Learning in the Digital World

Learning comes in lots of different styles. Some examples include informal learning, formal learning, collective learning, or learning through personal or professional learning network (PLN). Learning can be overwhelming, especially learning in the digital world because it delivers a multitude of information to students.

Technology can only support meaningful learning when students learn through it, NOT from it. Meaningful learning will result when technologies engage learners in activities such as building communities and interaction. In order to avoid inappropriate use of technology in the digital world, it is important to prepare educators to teach online.
